Has anyone else experienced their memory storage device to fail and just say 'not formatted' or something similar? I've had a few thumb drives that died on me and it is always at a random time. The only thing consistent is that they are old thumb drives. It's quite annoying and terrifying at the same time. So, I have a few questions about this in case anyone knows.
There is a limit to how much you can read/write on a memory device, can you determine that? Like, is it relative that if you have a higher memory, it will last longer? how will you know, or what is the best time to backup and change your memory device? And is there a way to find out if a memory device is near failure?
And if it does, what can you do, and to what extent can you recover files?
